"These bracelets are fantastic and while they certainly make a statement about the game, it really makes a statement about the heart. Many far less fortunate will benefit by golfers and their dislike for bogeys. What a perfect gift idea!"
— Russ Holden, Founder and CEO, Caddy For A Cure
Tired of Bogeys? If you’re a golfer, you can definitely relate. Why would we introduce a funny bracelet, when we’re all about raising money for important causes? Good question. Please let us explain and introduce you to Caddy For A Cure, a 501(c)(3) Not For Profit charity.
Ever had a dream where you’re walking the course alongside your favorite player like Boo Weekley or Ernie Els…or maybe Sergio Garcia, Padraig Harrington or even Vijay Singh? The two of you are chatting like old friends, exchanging tips and waving to the crowd. As it turns out, that scenario might be more real than you’d think, thanks to the brainchild of longtime Tour caddy and PGA Professional Russ Holden.
Holden was the caddy for the top winner in PGA European Tour history and a two-time Masters champion, Bernhard Langer. During his tenure, Holden realized there was an opportunity to launch a unique charity fundraising venture: Caddy For A Cure. The concept was to provide a unique way for anyone to enjoy the experience of a lifetime, by paying for the opportunity to caddy for a Tour professional. The proceeds would then be donated to several wonderful charities.
Today, Caddy For A Cure directly supports three different charities: the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, the Wounded Warrior Project and the PGA TOUR Caddy Benevolent Fund. Donations are also made to the PGA TOUR player’s charity of choice and to local charities picked by the PGA TOUR host sites.
This unique distribution of proceeds has allowed Caddy For A Cure to raise money for multiple organizations, including The American Cancer Society, The ALS Association, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, The Boys and Girls Club, St. Jude’s Medical Center, the Tiger Woods Foundation and many other nationally recognized organizations.
So, why “I’m Tired of Bogeys?” Why not? It’s a light hearted approach, but the causes that will benefit from sales of this bracelet are very serious, and Caddy For A Cure gets $5 from every bracelet sold!! Did you know that there are about 27 million golfers in the U.S. alone?! Help us get the “I’m Tired of Bogeys” bracelets on every golfer out there! Think of how far that will go to help people in need.
