According to the Humane Society of the United States, approximately six to eight million dogs and cats enter U.S. shelters every year — far too many to all find homes. Of those, four million — that's about one every eight seconds — are put down each year.

Isn't this insane?!  It has to end!

What you know is that Cesar Millan is the star of the National Geographic Channel's incredibly popular television show, Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan, which is now in its sixth season.

What you may not know is that Cesar and his wife, Ilusion, established the Cesar and Ilusion Millan Foundation in 2007 to help do something about pet overpopulation. He has been very outspoken about the need to spay and neuter, with a public service campaign that includes television commercials, full color posters and reproducible ads, featuring messages from the “Dog Whisperer” himself to promote the importance of spaying and neutering dogs to curb overpopulation. His foundation also supports non-profit animal shelters and rescue organizations all over the country in their rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing efforts.

"The Foundation, which has long been a dream of ours, is intended to benefit needy shelters and rescue organizations throughout the United States. Our many years of experience in the rehabilitation of dogs of every breed and background has taught us that most animals can make excellent companions, and all that many of them need is the proper care and a second chance."   — Cesar and Ilusion Millan

Cesar Millan, whose hit series Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan has become a national phenomenon, and his wife Ilusion Millan, founded the Cesar and Ilusion Millan Foundation to aid and support the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of abused and abandoned dogs. The national non-profit foundation provides financial support, expertise and community services to assist non-profit animal shelters and organizations engaged in the rescuing, rehabilitation, and re-homing of abused and abandoned dogs. Funding is prioritized on spaying and neutering programs to help reduce or eliminate dog overpopulation. Cesar and Ilusion Millan Foundation website
