Whales & dolphins are being killed! Let's help put an end to this!
Despite the worldwide suspension of commercial whaling, this year alone 25,000 dolphins, whales and porpoises will be killed, their meat sold for profit, according to the Whaleman Foundation. That's just wrong!
Help support the Save the Whales Again campaign by wearing the "I'm Tired of Whaling" bracelets. $5 from every bracelet goes to the Whaleman Foundation who are dedicated to preserving and protecting marine life and the ocean.
Did you know that whales are usually killed with an explosive harpoon that detonates inside the body? If the first harpoon fails to kill the whale, then a second harpoon or a rifle is used, according to the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA). Some whales take over an hour to die. These killing methods are inhumane and cruel. That's just wrong!
Then there is the Japanese dolphin slaughter, the largest dolphin kill in the world, lasting 6 months of the year. This occurs in areas such as Taiji, the subject of the documentary, The Cove. According to National Geographic, the dolphins are herded into a cove where they are then trapped and killed with spears, fishermen's hooks, or knives. The water runs red. They do this as a form of "pest control," believing the dolphins to be responsible for the depleting fish population. That's just wrong!
There's a lot of work to be done. Even celebrities, like Hayden Panettiere, spokesperson for the Save the Whales Again campaign, are getting involved. These passionate people are doing all they can to help, and you can too!
We all need to do our part and ban together to help fight against this horrific slaughter.
The bracelets are made from recycled tires and recycled metals. The band stretches so you can easily put it on and take it off.
