These photos just needed to be shared… What do they make you think?

The first picture of the man and the dog on the bench really moves me. I do not know the background to the picture, but it makes me believe that the pair is stuck working outside together, perhaps on patrol, or maybe even homeless, but the man has enough respect and love for the dog that he has made sure that the dog stays as comfortable as possible in the harsh, cold weather.
Love and Respect. For Each Other. That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it?
That first one makes me both sad and happy. Sad to see they may be homeless, nowhere to go. But happy in knowing they have each other. The owner even has taken his sleeping bag to keep his dog warm.
The second just shows how truly incredible animals are and how much we have to learn from them.
The third, just two friends having an adventure together.
All the photos evoke different emotions, don’t they? Tho to me, maybe wrongly, but the one of the little girl and her dog looks rather ’staged’, not spontaneous.
The first one is indeed very moving for what we can imagine and read into it; ie the bleak, cold weather; the stern yet determined, stalwart look on both the man and dogs face; the carefully constructed shelter for the dog as warmth against the elements, of course; and the question, are they homeless? At first I thought so, but now I am not so sure…. maybe they are a soldierly team, perhaps part of security in war zone? infantry? militia? border patrol? Guerillas even? Somehow it makes me think of somewhere like Russia or Eastern Europe, or even Afganistan….
To me, looking closer, the man has a beard but his facial hair is neatly cut and styled, and both he and the dog give the impression that they are strong and athletic, and not undernourished, underneath their bulky clothes and protection.
It is a bit of a mystery, which adds to the intrigue, poignancy and charm too of the scene.
The fact that they look so much like comrades, brothers in arms, and are sharing at the same level the same bench, and the dog has been given thoughtful protection by his human companion, speaks of a very ‘equal’ and somehow purposeful sort of relationship! Sharing of hardship and discomfort, together. Respect also implied.
Very interesting image! As indeed they all are, but only time to comment on this one for now : )
Thank you.
My first thought about the girl sitting on the suitcase was: “What about the traffic approaching from behind?” Not very smart to let a child sit in the middle of a road. Cute photo, though, staged or not.
Oh this is easy to describe what these pictures mean to me:
PURE & SIMPLE LOVE!!!
Thought provoking and deep is the one of the man and his dog on the bench. I see a homeless man and his companion. Just because one loses everything material doesn’t mean one loses their compassion for their fellow beings. Very well done and kudos to the photographer.
